Dance Class with Suzanne Forbes
Suzanne makes African dance fun and accessible to everyone--from beginners to more experienced dancers. Everyone is welcome to this class regardless of gender, race, age, or level of experience. African dance is about joy and celebration. Live drumming. Email Suzanne for times and location.
Mamady Keita Drum Workshops
World-renowned master drummer Mamady Keita from Guinea, West Africa will be offering 3 Day Weekend Workshops all throughout September and October 2006 in San Diego! Classes range from Beginning to Advanced/Professional. Mamady will teach the djembe parts to several rhythms and then students will get on the dununs to learn the Sangban, Kenkeni and Dunumba parts. In addition, Mamady will be teaching a song for each rhythm, don't forget to bring your audio recorders to these!
